The Jungle Cruise Trailer Looks Fun

I mean it's got The Rock in it

Let me preface what I’m about to say by declaring that I’m a not so objective super fan of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and everything he does is amazing. Now that’s out the way, I feel confident in saying that this is going to be the greatest movie of all time.

This looks like some classic Disney fun – nothing too serious, and something audiences are going to enjoy watching in the cinema. But enough about the movie, let’s talk about The Rock some more. Is there a more likeable, charismatic, charming man than this guy? Imagine if he was your uncle.

Anyways, I love the look of this film and it’s very upfront with what it is. I’m sure people will flock to see this in the summer of 2020. The only thing that didn’t make sense in this trailer is when Emily Blunt accidentally punches The Rock in the face and he’s surprised with how good a hit she can dish out. Of course she’s got a mean right hook, the first 30 seconds show us that she’s a total badass and no damsel in distress. Emily Blunt’s on a roll right now. Disney wasted no time rehiring her services after Mary Poppins Returns (2018) and next year she’ll be back in A Quiet Place: Part II.

There’s honestly not too much to talk about with this trailer. It’s short, but sweet. They’re looking for a magic tree and The Rock is going to captain the boat to get there. I have no doubt this will be a very solid film. The CGI right at the end was slightly worrying, however, with it looking slightly video game-ish.

But when The Rock signs on for something, I’m interested. In fact, if I was Disney, I would lock him down to a 10 picture deal right now and make sure he’s in all my films. Love ya DJ.
